BATTLEFIELD 4 - Prepare 4 Battle Sea
Two new teaser videos for Battlefield 4 have been released. The first video, appropriately titled "Prepare 4 Battle: Sea," gives us a brief glimpse at a ship's propeller spinning to life underwater. The second video hasn't officially been uploaded by EA or DICE, but nevertheless it has been leaked on YouTube. The video is similar to the one above, only this time the focus is on land combat.

Because they imply a disassociated rumble akin to being in the womb and hold our attention longer.
Seriously. Tests have been done on this, and this is the reason.
Why do all "new" war/fight game have those Independence Day/Alien technology sounds?

Hence "teaser".
If your GF wants to play, she will not open the door wearing nothing; but fully clothed holding a can of whipped cream in one hand and pair of hand cuffs in the other.
Nice analogy. Not sure how the other guy got caught up by the word teaser.
Either way, the goal is to give the impression of ''Gift unwrapping'' and to create hype for their product at a slow and calculated pace. It's marketting!
For the game itself. I'm on the fence, sure I don't want to give my money to EA but I did play over 300 hours of BF3 before quitting.
(and its BRAGGING TIME)
Hence "teaser".

They are 20 second clips so there is no need to keep ones attention for such a sort amount of time. I would prefer the sound effects from the Transformers movie over Indy day.
They put a Google add in the last 20 second teaser, come on. Um! can we have LAN support this time around DICE? Ah! The good old days of LAN party's without needing an internet connection or web browser to play a MP game and mod support to.

iteration to be equally good but I do NOT see any point in making such "teasers" as these - we do not get ABSOLUTELY no impression of the upcoming game. That ''propeller'' and those ''lights in a distance'' means...nothing. It could be the few seconds belonging to any game like BF3, Bioshock, Black Ops... These are not ''teasers'' at all - they do not ''tease'' you, they are purposeless and only leave you puzzled (who needs it, why, what can anybody learn by them in terms of what to expect...). Perhaps they are "puzzlers" - I would have understand that...
Strange... Am I the only one perplexed here?

We are not supposed to question, just enjoy the brief moment of possibility and imagination of what's to come.
Besides, with beta still a relatively long way off - I'm not sure what they could show you. I'm sure you could snap up a few new customers of BF3 in the process...
