B660 and H610 motherboards will arrive on January 5, H670 cancelled

B660 and H610 motherboards will arrive on January 5, H670 cancelled

While it was already known that the B660 and H610 motherboards would be introduced during Intel's CES 2022 announcement on January 4, there were still questions about their release date.

These uncertainties have been allayed, owing to a tip from the Chinese website ITHome, since it has been confirmed that they will arrive on January 5. According to the ITHome report, while they will arrive on that day, there will be a limited number of units and a limited selection of models, which will improve in late January or early February. Additionally, they will be more expensive than their predecessors based on H510 and B560, as was the case with Z690 and Z590.

Additionally, there is another claim from MyDrivers that the H670 chipset would have been canceled since the upper-mid-range models are priced higher than the entry-level Z690, and thus who wants to spend more? That money goes to the Z690, while those on a budget choose for the B660, which offers memory overclocking and sufficient I / O at a cheaper price, thus the public demand for the H670 does not support its launch.

The ITHome story indicates that the H670 could arrive later, but not that it has been canceled, raising uncertainties about the chipset's future. We'll have to wait and see what Intel and the motherboard manufacturers reveal, as well as whether or not we see H670.

On other hand there is a persistant rumor of a future socket 1800...
If Intel change again of socket in future, why invest in an H670 that would be limited for OC and have almost the I/O and raid from Z690 (if it follow the logic of previous H*70 series)?

And it supports ddr4? Sounds strange to me.
