ASUSTOR and Synology Product Reliability Statement
Remember when we wrote that intel Pulled Appolo Lake processors. Basically Apollo Lake processors are prone to a degrade issue. That's the B1 stepping of the Apollo Lake processors Celeron N3350, J3355 and J3455 as well as the Pentium N4200. All of the sudden and without any explanation, the warning has been revoked and Intel continues to supply B1 chips.
ASUSTOR now send out the following statement:
Taipei, Taiwan, 17 September 2019 —Continuing our everlasting commitment to quality, ASUSTOR would like to remind the public that we take data security very seriously and although recent media reports may suggest design flaws in Apollo Lake processors, ASUSTOR products featuring Apollo Lake processors are unaffected due to having been engineered with extra circuit protections and strict adherence to vendor design guidelines. ASUSTOR internal testing has not found evidence of premature failure and continues to work with the vendor in order to ensure the highest build quality of any NAS manufacturer.
"Intel - Intel identified an issue with the Low Pin Count (LPC), Real Time Clock (RTC), SD Card interfaces on Intel Celeron N3350, J3355, J3455 processors and Intel Pentium N4200 processor resulting in degradation of these signals at a rate higher than Intel's quality goals after multiple years in service."
Synology also posted a statement moments ago:
Synology lnc. has been made aware of a recent media report[1]. In response to the report, Synology has confirmed with the chipset vendor that all of the related product designs conform to the vendor's latest design guidelines (July, 2019). Meanwhile, Synology has not observed any abnormal error rates since the initial release of the related products.

it doesn't really matter what they adhere too, this is p67 failure grade, it will eventually die no matter what overengineering you do.
