Asus was listing close to 30 Intel Series 400 Socket LGA 1200 motherboards on its support site

It's a bit of a 'whoops'. At the support pages from ASUS you will notice that they are listed upcoming motherboards with Intel Series 400 chipsets, and yes that is intended for Comet Lake generation processors. A total of 29 models based on chipsets with Z490, B460, H470, and a workstation targeted W480 are listed.

You'll notice that Socket LGA 1200 now is confirmed, which changes a few pins and likely adds further support for Thunderbolt 3 and Wi-Fi 6. Comet lake we've been detailing for a while now, the 10th. Generation of Intel Core processors 14nm processors will be offered up to 10 cores (Core i9-10900K / 125W TDP).

Why though, when those 14nm CPU's they put in them are going to bomb so catastrophically?

Fifteen motherboard with the same chipset make no sense.
Can they just do the value/mid/extreme version?

Just harder to have bios updated.

The TUF with and without wifi is ridicolous. Just add wifi on it and stop.
5 gaming version...

Oh and 4 based on b460 but called STRIX. Just to confuse people about branding/performance/features.
