ASUS to offer optional SATA III Addon Cards

by Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 09/01/2009 02:27 AM | source: | 0 comment(s)

Last week on london ASUS held a seminar displaying some of their upcoming motherboards. Among the new P7P55D Premium series you will spot a 2-port SATA III controller.

The lower Deluxe model will not have this feature, however ASUS will offer an optional addon board. The card uses the same SATA III controller to provide 2 internal SATA III ports and is based off a PLX PEX8613 bridge chip combined with a Marvell 88SE9123 2-port SATA III controller to make that happen. We took some photo's of it. Check out the thumbnail.
