ASUS STRIX GTX 1080 Ti gets 1683 MHz boost clock
Specifications of ASUS STRIX GTX 1080 Ti have surfaced. The card receives a boost clock of 1708 MHz in OC mode and 1683 MHz in gaming mode.
Typically you need GPU TWeak software to be active at all times to get that OC mode, so straight out of the box you are looking at that 1683 MHz boost which is considered your default out of the box clocks. The card would get a 1569 MHz default base clock frequency.
The ASUS STRIX GTX 1080 Ti will have its memory clocked at 11100 MHz, again in OC mode. Gaming mode likely just runs the default 11 Gbps. The board is based on a 10+2 phase design and receives two 8-pin power connectors. It looks like the fact that the 1080 Ti will be available ‘early April’.

hmm let's see what they do once installed , pretty sure they'll clock to at least 1850 without using a slider in oc software.
2ghz through 3584 cores is a lot harder than 2ghz through 2560 cores.
I have an upper limit of $300 I will spend on a GPU. That's it. I've maintained that personal rule since my first V2 for $300...
Never once been disappointed! Nowadays, the sweet spot is closer to $200 than three! Good times!

At lesser cores than even a 1080. It's like a multi-core cpu, try pushing 5ghz through a quad core on air with all cores active versus 1 core active. Then voltage and temp plays a role.
Titan XP was able to achieve 2ghz so i'm not saying its not possible, but why vendors are clocking lower the more cores they have, they are ensuring stability out of the box.
