So far i've owned a S2231W (1680x1050 S-PVA) and my current CX240 (1920x1200 IPS).
Not having IPS Glow is a blessing, and well worth the money. I bought the CX240 for €900 in 2013, nearly 10 years old, money well spend really.
Probably going for a CS2731 in the very near future, need a new GPU first.

They're worth it though. My Eizo IPS has perfectly even shades of grey near black. No glow at all on the CG2730. Gorgeous monitor to look at for graphic work. Costly monitor though as you said. It was £1500 back in 2018. Plus they give you the colour accuracy quality control printout for the monitor.
