ASUS Addresses Concerns Over AMD Ryzen 7000 Series CPUs with Official Announcement and EFI Updates.

ASUS has stated in response to the growing concerns surrounding AMD Ryzen 7000 series CPUs, specifically the Ryzen 7000X3D lineup. They have also released EFI updates, including a thermal monitoring feature to protect motherboards and CPUs. Additionally, the company is developing further updates to set new standards for AMD Expo and SoC voltage, which seem to be the root causes of the CPU VDDIO/MC voltage-related complications.

The EFI updates posted on Friday contains some dedicated thermal monitoring and mechanisms we've implemented to help protect the boards and CPUs. We removed older BIOSes for that reason and also because manual Vcore control was available on previous builds. We're also working with AMD on defining new rules for AMD EXpo and SoC voltage. We'll issue updates for that ASAP. Please bear with us.

Certain motherboard manufacturers like MSI have already rolled out new BIOS updates. Roman Hartung also found that the issue may extend beyond the Ryzen 7000X3D series and could potentially affect the Ryzen 7000 X-series CPUs. While there were no prior reports on this matter, it appears that AMD Expo is the main culprit behind the problem. Until new BIOS updates are provided by motherboard manufacturers or an official announcement is made by AMD, users can either disable AMD Expo or manually adjust the SoC voltage.
