ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) unveiled today the ROG Rapture GT-AXE16000, afirst quad-band WiFi 6E gaming router, successor to the previous tri-band model.

This groundbreaking router - winner of the prestigious CES® 2022 Innovation Award - delivers incredible speeds of up to 16,000 Mbps and is powered by Broadcom's latest flagship chipsets with 2.0 GHz quad-core 64-bit CPU and WiFi as well as the ASUS RangeBoost Plus technology powered for improved coverage. Designed for stylish gaming, the GT-AXE16000 features an infinity mirror on the top of the chassis that adds a unique touch to the multiple Aura RGB lighting effects.

For the ultimate in wired versatility, the GT-AXE16000 features two 10Gbps WAN/LAN ports, one 2.5Gbps WAN port and four 1Gbps LAN ports. The quad-band configuration—which requires much more complex engineering than a tri-band solution—has one 6 GHz, two 5 GHz, and one 2.4 GHz frequency bands. This configuration allows for much more flexible ASUS AiMesh options: for example, gamers can use the second 5GHz channel for backhaul connections while still enjoying a full set of 2.4GHz, 5GHz, and 6GHz - Tapes for devices is available.

With triple game acceleration, VPN Fusion for running a VPN and a normal connection at the same time, free ASUS AiProtection Pro for advanced security, and Instant Guard for securing public WiFi connections, the GT-AXE16000 is the router of choice for serious gamers.

Powerful new hardware
ROG Rapture GT-AXE16000 is powered by the latest Broadcom 2.0 GHz quad-core 64-bit CPUs and WiFi chipsets, giving it the power to handle even the most demanding gaming networks. The maximum network throughput is increased by up to 18% [1] and ensures lightning-fast response times, accelerated data transfers and an optimized gaming experience.

ASUS RangeBoost Plus is the latest, most powerful version of the renowned RangeBoost technology, which can significantly improve coverage and WiFi performance compared to other models without RangeBoost Plus. Combining next-generation Broadcom WiFi chipsets with exclusive ASUS RF technology, RangeBoost Plus leverages several updated ASUS features that improve WiFi signal range and overall coverage by up to 38%

Flexible connections with high bandwidths
ROG Rapture GT-AXE16000 features two dual-function 10Gbps WAN/LAN ports, four 1Gbps LAN ports and one 2.5Gbps WAN port. This flexibility allows gamers to power their wired devices with massive bandwidth and take advantage of ultra-high-speed Internet connections.

The router supports both LAN and WAN aggregation, allowing ports to be interconnected for higher bandwidth. This is ideal for providing additional bandwidth for high-bandwidth wired network devices such as B. a compatible NAS or a desktop PC.

With the two WAN ports, advanced users can establish two Internet connections with two different ISPs. Traffic can then be distributed between the two links, or one link can be used as a failover if the main link fails, providing a more reliable Internet connection.

For power users with 10GBase-T capable PCs, servers or NAS devices, the dual 10Gbps ports are perfect. More convenient than combining multiple Gigabit Ethernet ports, they help increase the available bandwidth to avoid data bottlenecks for your entire network.

Use the full power of WiFi 6E
ROG Rapture GT-AXE16000 is equipped with 16-stream WiFi 6E that offers up to seven additional high-speed 160MHz channels for multi-gigabit speeds with stable and consistent connections. This dramatically increases network capacity while reducing bandwidth congestion, giving each WiFi 6E device [3] greater performance.

With ROG Rapture GT-AXE16000's four frequency bands, gamers can assign each band to different devices for faster and smoother WiFi connections. It also offers even more flexible options for connecting ASUS AiMesh-compatible routers as mesh nodes to create a whole-home mesh system. By default, one of the GT-AXE16000's two 5GHz bands is used as a dedicated backhaul connection to the central router, allowing devices to continue to have full tri-band access to the 2.4GHz band, the second 5GHz band and the 6 GHz band. Alternatively, with the WiFi 6E AiMesh nodes, gamers can configure a 6 GHz backhaul connection that enables fast and interference-free transmission between the nodes for an optimized mesh experience.

[3] Subject to legal restrictions and coexistence with 5GHz WiFi. The number of channels can be less than 7.

Built for games
The ROG Rapture GT-AXE16000 is strikingly designed for the ultimate gaming atmosphere. An infinity mirror on top of the case adds a unique touch to the multiple Aura RGB lighting effects.

ROG Rapture GT-AXE16000 accelerates game traffic at every step, from PC to game server. Exclusive triple-level game acceleration stabilizes connections to eliminate jitter, reduce lag, lower ping and increase speed for an amazing gaming experience.

With VPN Fusion, players can use both a VPN and a normal internet connection - at the same time! Even if some network users have to use a VPN, other users can still enjoy maximum gaming speeds.

The GT-AXE16000 is equipped with ASUS AiProtection Pro, which includes the latest WPA3 security protocol and advanced parental controls. The automatic, regularly updated security signatures protect all your devices and personal data from Internet threats.

The free public WiFi offered in cafes, restaurants, hotels, airports, etc. is rarely secure. ASUS Instant Guard uses VPN technology to establish a secure data tunnel to the GT-AXE16000, ensuring top-notch security on all public WiFi connections.
