ASUS releases GeForce RTX 3090 (2400 USD) and 3070 (999 USD) fitted with EKWB water block
Asus has added two graphics cards under product codes RTX3090-24G-EK and RTX 3070-8G-EK to the stack or deck of cards, both with preinstalled EK Water Blocks water blocks.
We already reported this earlier on in the global press release, however they are now getting available it seems (if you can find and grab one that is). The water block is a full-cover type that cools the GPU, memory, and power supply circuit together, and the nickel-plated copper base improves thermal conductivity. In addition, the backside is equipped with an aluminum backplate that protects the board and is equipped with an illumination function compatible with AURA Sync.
The specifications of "RTX 3090-24G-EK" equipped with GeForce RTX 3090 are GDDR6X 24GB video with core boost clock of 1,695MHz (Gaming Mode) / 1,725MHz (OC Mode), memory speed of 19.5Gbps, memory bus width of 384bit. Equipped with memory. The Output interface is HDMI2.1 x 1, DisplayPort1.4ax3, the auxiliary power connector is 8pinx2, external dimensions are length 216 mm, width 136.2 mm, thickness 19.8 mm, weight 881 g
The specifications of " RTX 3070-8G-EK" equipped with GeForce RTX 3070 are core boost clock 1,725MHz (Gaming Mode) / 1,755MHz (OC Mode), memory speed 14Gbps, memory bus width 256bit, GDDR6 8GB graphics memory. The output interface is HDMI2.1 x 1, DisplayPort1.4ax3, the auxiliary power connector is 12pinx1 (8pinx2 conversion adapter included), and the external dimensions are 209mm in length, 111.5mm in width, 21.5mm in thickness, and 781g in weight.
The advantage here is that these cards have no warranty issues as the block comes factory installed. The 3090 would cost 2400 UER/USD :) and the 3070 is listed at 999 EUR/USD/ Well, luckily that's including tax.

Im glad I built one good enough to last. Even if I was eventually able to upgrade my GPU, my 5700xt still gonna do well till then. 2700x can hold out for a few years, only add 16GB ram, and I have tons of storage. 3x1TB SSD, and 3x 3TB mechanical.

I ordered a 3080 EK in Jan for that 3070 price and still hasn't shipped. Weird since I thought the water block is a deal-breaker for miners and still an entry barrier for gamers. The margin for ASUS was also quite high (compared to TUF etc at that time) so they should have manufactured some

I can argue against that still and forever. A PC is far more then a console will ever be unless console developers decide to actually make their consoles a PC.
Nearly guaranteed mouse and keyboard support, compared to console controllers, is worth however expensive, or not expensive, a PC is. Let alone the rest of the things i can not do on a console.
Just an FYI, i'm not saying consoles are bad, or there's not a place for them, etc. But the argument "PC vs Console" will always favor PC in the grand scheme of things unless a console developer literally makes their console as functional as a PC and requires all games to support mouse and keyboard. There is no arguing this. Doesn't mean everyone will value what a PC has to offer over a console and decide to go PC, again, there's a valid place for consoles and people will get them for their own needs, doesn't negate the favor to PCs capabilities.

The only thing new about these cards is pricing. I saw RTX3090-24G-EK a couple of month back for 2200€ and I thought to myself: "Naaah that's way too expensive, I'm gonna wait till the price drops."... Well... fuck me.

I'm starting to think that I've bought my very last gaming computer. I already bought new cross country and alpine skis for the winter and have some other hobbies, now those can give me more fun for less money.
