Asus releases G-sync-upgradekit for VG248QE-monitor
Shortly after Nvidia announced their DIY upgrade G-Sync kit ASUS now also released it. The kit obviously upgrades the VG248QE-monitor towards G-Sync compatible. It is rumored that ASUS can exclusively deliver this technology for a while, with other vendors and manufacturers to follow later this year.
The VG248QE monitor has a 144Hz refresh rate.To make the monitor G-Sync compatible you will need to screw open the monitor though and install the kit that exists out of a PCB print with a couple of headers.
ASUS made an installation video available. The price for this upgrade kit is a whopping 199 USD. Read our G-Sync article, using this monitor.

To be clear users will lose dvi, display port. Aux in and speaker sounds when using the g sync? But $199.... That's a bummer! Hopefully the engrenering , tooling and marketing pay off quick because I'll never buy one at that price. I was thinking 100 shipped before I clicked this thread. BuZz kill

This is a 3D monitor which 3D only works through Dual-link DVI-D with Nvidia 3D Vision 2 glasses on this particular model. You are saying that either this allows 3D through HDMI or that you lose 3D altogether?

I just want a 23" 1080p IPS. Deliver that to me with G-Sync and I will throw you up to and no more than $220 for it.
