ASUS Rampage III Extreme arrives

by Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 04/15/2010 04:30 PM | source: | 0 comment(s)

During CeBIT it was already on display and recently is was announced, the ASUS Rampage III Extreme is a wicked Intel X58 chipset based motherboard alright. The Rampage III Extreme can use LGA1366 processors, has four PCI Express x16 slots, which are managed by an NVIDIA NF200 bridge chip, and it supports DDR3 memory.

What interests a lot of the enthusiast users is the native implementation of SATA 6.0Gbps and USB 3.0, which means that performance enthusiasts will have all bases covered if they decide to buy this mainboard. The device even includes overclocking features, as well as the now-infamous capability of being overclocked via Bluetooth.

Other specifications of the upcoming monster board include Gigabit LAN, eSATA and Firewire connectivity, USB 2.0 ports and 7.1 channel audio. The rest of the details should become available soon enough, since official pictures usually mean that the formal introduction of a product is not too far off.

Check out some official photo's we just took in the lab, we hope to have a review ready by next week.
