ASUS Launches GeForce GTX 980 Ti Poseidon Platinum Graphics Card

Okay so we already reviewed this card last week, today the official announcement. ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) today announced Poseidon GTX 980 Ti, a super-cool new graphics card with an exclusive hybrid thermal solution that enables extremely efficient cooling by either water or air.

Powered by the latest GeForce GTX 980 Ti graphics-processing unit (GPU), ROG Poseidon GTX 980 Ti features GPU boost clock speeds of up to 1203 MHz in gaming mode and 1228 MHz in OC mode. It is packed with exclusive ASUS technologies, including DirectCU H2O cooling technology with dual dust-proof fans to deliver 2X (30°C) cooler performance with water cooling and 10% (5°C) cooler performance with air cooling.

ROG Poseidon GTX 980 Ti features GPU Tweak II, an intuitive yet powerful overclocking tool designed to let users get maximum performance out of their graphics card. It also comes with a 1‑year XSplit Gamecaster premium license - a $99 value - so gamers can easily stream or record their gameplay via a convenient, in-game overlay. Additionally, ROG Poseidon GTX 980 Ti includes a free 15-day World of Warships premium account together with an exclusive invite code for a Diana Cruiser ship.

Complete cooling flexibility: DirectCU H2O technology with dual dust-proof fans
ROG Poseidon GTX 980 Ti is fitted with exclusive DirectCU H2O technology, which employs a combined air and water channel to provide complete flexibility for the user - and ultra-efficient cooling for the graphics cards.

A custom vapor chamber is in direct contact with the card's GPU for faster heat dispersal, while copper heat-pipes and extended cooling fins further transfer heat out and away from the card to keep it running cool. With water cooling, ROG Poseidon GTX 980 Ti achieves up to 2X (30°C) lower temperatures and up to 3X quieter performance than reference cards. Additionally, the card comes with standard G¼-inch threaded fittings to easily accommodate existing cooling equipment, so users can get started with water cooling right away.

ROG Poseidon GTX 980 Ti features dual dust-proof fans with a unique design that efficiently dissipates heat for optimal performance and increases dust and particle resistance for a 25% longer lifespan. An attention-grabbing ROG LED that glows and pulses in glorious ROG red is inset in the shroud to give the card an attractive flourish.

Premium quality and reliability: Auto-Extreme technology with Super Alloy Power II
ROG Poseidon GTX 980 Ti benefits from ASUS-exclusive Auto-Extreme technology, the industry's first 100%-automated manufacturing process that removes human fallibility from the production line for consistent perfection - making it ultra-reliable in all scenarios, from general everyday use to hardcore gaming and overclocking. Auto-Extreme technology eliminates flux to minimize dust buildup and oxidization, and makes the rear side of the graphics card's printed-circuit board totally smooth, increasing comfort for system-builders. This new manufacturing process is also environmentally friendly, eliminating harsh chemicals and reducing power consumption by 50%.

ROG Poseidon GTX 980 Ti also features premium Super Alloy Power II components that enhance efficiency, reduce power loss, decrease buzzing under load, and lower thermal dynamics for unsurpassed quality and reliability.

Tweakable and intuitive: GPU Tweak II with XSplit Gamecaster
Redesigned with an intuitive, all-new user interface, GPU Tweak II makes gaming and overclocking easier and more visual than ever, while still retaining advanced options for seasoned overclockers. With one click, the new Gaming Booster function maximizes system performance by removing redundant processes and allocating all available resources automatically. An included 1-year XSplit Gamecaster premium license - a $99 value - lets gamers easily stream or record gameplay via a convenient, in-game overlay.

  • 1203MHz boost clock in gaming mode
  • 1228MHz boost clock in OC mode
  • DirectCU H2O
  • Auto-Extreme technology with Super Alloy Power II
  • GPU Tweak II with XSplit Gamecaster
  • 6GB GDDR5 memory
