Asus Launches Designo MX279AQ Monitor
ASUS announced the Designo MX27AQ, a WQHD monitor with an AH-IPS panel. It uses Bang & Olufsen for audio quality. The MX27AQ represents the new generation of ASUS Designo Series monitors, featuring an elegant edge-to-edge frameless panel, ultra-slim profile (just 1.25cm at its thinnest point), and sundial-inspired base.
ASUS Eye Care technology, with ASUS Flicker-Free and Low Blue Light technologies, reduces instances of eye strain and other damaging effects for users who spend hours in front of a computer.
This 27-inch 2560 x 1440 resolution WQHD display is based on an AH-IPS panel offering 5ms G2G response time, 1000:1 contrast ratio, 350 cd/m2 brightness, 178/178 viewing angles and a standard sRGB gamut (W-LED backlight). There are a variety of video input options including DisplayPort 1.2, dual HDMI ports and a HDMI / MHL 2.0 port. The latter lets users view content stored in MHL-compatible devices on the MX27AQ, and simultaneously charges the mobile device when connected. The stand offers only a tilt adjustment.
Apparently alternative colour combinations will also exist for the product, with the three colours including silver, gold and space grey. These are ‘subject to availability’ and may not be available in all regions. The monitor will be released in regions including the US and UK starting in March with an RRP of $499 USD equivalent in some regions. Final pricing TBC.

The MX series IPS's are quite good for how cheap they are. I got the 27" 1080p model a few months back for $250 and the image quality is excellent.

Searches for refresh rate specs...none listed, so it's assumed to be 60 Hz. The "reduced eye strain" stuff is just typical Asus mumbo jumbo.
No thanks.
