That's right, not 3060, 3060 SUPER but 3060 ULTRA. If this is true, then NVIDIA might position yet another 3060 SKU into the market, positioning itself in between 3060 Ti and 3070 presumably.
If this product is released, it might be because of the pending series Radeon RX 6700 release of course. The card would use the now familiar 8 nm GA104 GPU, used in the RTX 3060 Ti and RTX 3070; but with a different shader core-configuration and likely 12 GB of GDDR6. At wccftech a box photo of the custom RTX 3060 Ultra card was spotted as well, the ASUS TUF Gaming. Predicted pricing; USD $449.

Im telling you 3090 users ware the smartest ones everyone else got screwed over.

so basically an 8GB card with 256-bit gddr6 should not really vary that much from a 16gb gddr6 256-bit card if you're targetting +60 fps at 4K right ?
seems like 3080 is very well balanced.
was caching 8gb of data really the intention here ? will majority of games use this and how much can we get in return ? it looks like paying for a huge amount of cache you're very rarely gonna use.
seems like 12g on a 192-bit bus is redundant too
anyway,thanks for explaining it.now I know why in ROTR I was having terrible fps drops with 7.5GB vram used on gtx1080 but my 2070 Super could go to 7.9G and it was fine.

There are definitely going to be scenarios in which 6800 (XT) will drop fps more than 3080 connected to memory bandwidth.
And there may be scenarios which enable 6800 (XT) to pull ahead thanks to IF. But as I wrote before, in most of those, sensible reduction of textures or other memory intensive operations will solve problem with minimal visual impact.
For 4K, people should get 3080 even while it is not up to my fps standard. But looking forward, 6800 (XT) will be in worse place than it is now.
1440p, it is matter of preference. And on 1080p, 6800 (XT) are very good. And usual competitive games/settings may give 6800 (XT) some advantages too.
And those 12GB incoming cards with likely 384GB/s bandwidth or even 336GB/s, they will struggle before their memory utilization hits mentioned 11GB.
