Wow, somebody peeked at MSI's Gaming series alright, they even took the naming. ASUS is releasing the B85-Pro Gamer Motherboard. The B85-Pro Gamer seems to have received some touches from the ROG series as it comes with mildly similar black and red theme.



The ASUS B85-Pro Gamer has slim ATX form factor with LGA1150 CPU socket in its center. The socket is accompanied by 8-phase Digi+ VRM.You will spot four DDR3 memory slots dual channel. It comes with one PCIe 3.0 x16 slot, one PCIe 2.0 x16 slot (wired for x4 mode), two PCIe 2.0 x1 slots and three legacy PCI slots.

On-board storage connectivity options include four SATA III ports and two SATA II ports which are all coming from the Intel PCH. These are accompanied by two USB 3.0 and four USB 2.0 internal headers. For network connectivity, it has Intel’s I217V gigabit Ethernet LAN.

ASUS has gone all out in terms of on-board audio on B85-Pro Gamer as it comes with SupremeFX 8 channel HD audio codec with EMI cover, red line shielding and 300 ohm dedicated headphone amplifier. The audio circuitry is equipped with ELNA capacitors. The audio hardware is accompanied by ASUS’ exclusive Sonic Radar tool which tells you during a game that from which side the sound is coming. This enhances user’s enemy-pinpointing skills. The B85-Pro Gamer has a pretty rich back I/O. It comes with two PS/2 ports for keyboard and mouse which are obviously welcomed by gamers. Other than that, there is SPDIF optical out, HDMI port, DVI, VGA, four USB 2.0, two USB 3.0, LAN jack and the usual audio jacks.
