ASUS Announces ROG Strix XG35VQ - 35 Inch up-to 100 Hz
With a dash of Aura Sync backlighting and Extreme Low Motion Blur technology, meet the new ROG Strix XG35VQ. Announced today at IFA Berlin 2017, the latest and largest addition to the ASUS Strix family of gaming monitors.
ASUS -- stretching nearly three feet, the 35” diagonal puts loads of real estate at your disposal. We use a gentle 1800R curve to bring the far edges a little bit closer for a more panoramic feel. The VA panel has rich colors with 100% sRGB coverage, plus 2500:1 contrast and 300 cd/m2 brightness. Its wide 178° viewing angles keep the picture from washing out, so you can gather a few friends for split-screen Rocket League that looks great from every seat in the room.
The 21:9 proportions contain a UWQHD resolution of 3440x1440. That’s high enough for a sharp image but not so high that you need multiple graphics cards to exploit the maximum refresh rate. The 100Hz peak is equivalent to 100 FPS, which feels noticeably smoother and more responsive than the conventional 60Hz standard. Adaptive-Sync makes everything even more buttery by synchronizing the refresh rate with the frame rate of compatible GPUs. Otherwise known as FreeSync, this technique minimizes the stuttering that can occur when FPS fluctuates. It also reduces input lag and eliminates visual tearing that cuts across your view of the game.
At four milliseconds from gray to gray, the pixel response time is quick enough to keep obvious ghosting at bay. You can also enable our Extreme Low Motion Blur mode, which strobes the LED backlight to lower persistence, much like a VR display. This mode uses a fixed refresh rate, so it’s best for fast-paced games where you can comfortably maintain high frame rates.
RGB LEDs illuminate a ring on the back, providing a customizable ambient glow that frames your battlestation. The lighting can react to in-game audio, so it’s not just for aesthetics, but there are still plenty of options for visual flair. With Aura Sync, you can coordinate the colors and effects with other components, from external peripherals to internal parts. Support for the XG35VQ will also be added to the Aura SDK, which lets game and application developers control our lighting using their software.
Although not part of Aura, additional lighting projects the ROG logo onto your desk. It originates in the base of the stand, whose height, swivel, and tilt are all easily adjustable to help you get the screen in a comfortable position. Around the back, you’ll find HDMI 2.0 and 1.4 inputs alongside DisplayPort 1.2 and a headphone jack. A dual-port USB 3.0 hub completes the well-rounded spec with a convenient place to connect your keyboard and mouse.

Seems like it, or at least a Freesync version of it. Either way, 2018 should be an interesting year for monitors. I just hope the quality control improved over the last generation...

Going to be awesome to see what these next gen GPU's can pump out, supposed to be early 2018 release, for NV anyway.

So this is like a gimped version of the 35" curved ROG Strix they showed off at computex earlier this year then? The one that had Qdot and HDR with 200hz + gsync. Guess they're delaying that one too huh?
