ASUS also launches Designo Curve MX34VQ Ultra-wide

The ASUS Designo Curve MX34VQ is an Ultra-wide Curved Monitor - 34 inch, with a steep 1800R Curvature. The unit is built Frameless and comes with a Qi Wireless Charger and Audio by Harman Kardon. This is a FreeSync compatible monitor.

The 34-inch, ultra-wide QHD Designo monitor has a 21:9 aspect ratio and a 1800R curved screen for a wider field of view. The Designo Curve MX34VQ features 178°wide-view technology across its horizontal and vertical planes, allowing you to enjoy beautiful visuals from almost any angle. The ultra-wide QHD of the Designo monitor features 2.5x the resolution of a Full HD display, so it provides 35% more onscreen space than other Full HD monitor of a similar size. The extra resolution makes multitasking more enjoyable and more efficient. The ultra-high 3000:1 contrast ratio of the Designo produces the brightest whites and the darkest black hues, delivering exceptionally distinct imagery.

  • 34-inch UWQHD display with 178° wide-view angle in frameless design for edge-to-edge brilliance
  • 8-Watts stereo speakers featured with Harman Kardon® Audio and ASUS SonicMaster technologies
  • Featuring HDMI and DP ports for multi device connections
  • Qi Wireless Charger (5W/1A) designed in the base with aurora lighting on while charging Qi-enabled devices
  • TUV Rheinland Certification for Flicker-free and Low Blue Light technology to ensure a comfortable viewing experience

The monitor uses a 34” 3440 x 1440 (21:9) UltraWide Samsung SVA (‘Super’ Vertical Alignment) panel adn thus has a 3000:1 specified static contrast. A 100Hz refresh rate is supported, alongside support for AMD FreeSync via Adaptive-Sync on the monitor. The variable refresh rate range supported is 48 – 100Hz, LFC may help out for even lower frame rates. True 8-bit colour is supported with full sRGB coverage

The ‘GamePlus’ features are also found (on-screen crosshair, timer and ‘FPS’ counter). A 4ms grey to grey response time is specified, which as usual should be taken with a pinch of salt.

The rear of the monitor shows 3 HDMI 2.0 ports, DP 1.2a (supports Adaptive-Sync) and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The stand offers tilt as the only ergonomic flexibility and along with the QI charging base. It has no 100 x 100mm VESA holes. Pricing and availability is to be announced.

Nice. But 'audio by Harmon? Why? As if anyone buying a high spec, costly monitor would use the in-built speakers.

That is a pretty sweet looking monitor. Finally a free-sync model to rival the 34" Rog Swift(hopefully) 100hz is very nice for a monitor like this.
