ASUS adds Broadwell-E support to X99 series motherboards

Just like the rest of the manufacturers ASUS now also has added support for what they carefully call Core i7 X-Series processors, obviously this is added support for Broadwell-E processors that will likely launch next month. The Broadwell-E flagship should become a 10-core processor.

Updates are available immediately for all ASUS X99 Series motherboards. With a choice of easy-to-use ways to update the UEFI BIOS supported by comprehensive and detailed online tutorials, owners of ASUS X99 series motherboards can benefit immediately from quick, safe and smooth upgrades without any worries — allowing them to unleash the great performance of the latest high-performance Intel Core i7 X-Series processors in just a few simple steps.

ASUS X99 Series motherboards include the renowned ASUS USB BIOS Flashback feature, which enables users to apply UEFI BIOS updates with incredible ease. This innovative tool downloads the latest BIOS to a USB flash drive, enabling users to update the award-winning ASUS UEFI BIOS quickly and easily. The motherboard does not even need to have a CPU or DRAM modules in place: users can simply connect the power supply, plug in their USB drive, press the USB BIOS Flashback or ROG Connect button and then sit back and wait — there’s nothing else to do.

Alternatively, users can apply the necessary UEFI BIOS update with the easy-to-use EZ Flash 2 utility — which is built into the UEFI BIOS — using a flash disk.

Users keen to take advantage of the power of Intel Core i7 X-Series processors and Intel Xeon processors can visit the ASUS website and download the relevant UEFI BIOS version today. A list of compatible X99 Series motherboards is included below, and is also available online at http://www.asus.com/Microsite/mb/intel-core-i7-x-series-cpu-ready

Last time I updated tge bios for x99 deluxe, it screwed-up my overclock... Not only does the saved settings disappear but the system would crash in seconds of prime95. After spending a good part of the day tweaking and overclocking the last bios version... I'm gonna stick with it unless I get a broadwell-e. Anyone want to buy a 5960x for 950$?

Resetting the settings to default and re-applying your custom settings on a BIOS upgrade is just good practice. Should write down the OC settings next time and manually restore them after a BIOS wipe.

Just because it is a newer bios does not mean it will oc as well as an older version. The board in my sig along with the cpu oc'd well only with two bios versions. Any version after the one I am using, renders oc'ing impossible. All one can do is test the version out.
