ASRock Rocks Out the X570D4I-2T - A mini-ITX X570 motherboard with two 10 Gigabit Ethernet Jacks
Alright, it is so cute that I had to post about it. ASRock is releasing an X570 based mini-ITX motherboard that has been fitted with two 10 Gbit/s ethernet jacks next to a single Gigabit jack.
However, this motherboard will be available to build yourself a server with. That's right, a 17x17cm motherboard with dual 10 Gigabit jacks and wait for it, support for ECC memory. There are four DIMM slots on the motherboard and as you can see, these are rather small, so that's SODIMM memory. So with a PRO series Ryzen processor you can go ECC. If you stick to regular memory, then even a Ryzen 9 3950X 16-core processor could be housed there.
Other than that it is interesting to see that the X570 is not actively cooled. PCIe wise you'll get one x16 slot (PCIe 4.0). The read connectors show a duo of USB 3.2 ports (type-a), a Gigabit port for IPMI, then two 10 GbE ports, and a d-sub video port (VGA) connector which is still the standard for servers. Two OcuLink connectors enable up to eight SATA devices, so that is not two SATA connectors that you see. Also, a single m.2-2280 connector is present for your NVMe M.2 SSD.
Probably not, but we hope ASRock will launch the X570D4I-GT2 on the consumer market as well. The earlier X470 model was just over 300 EUR.

Finally, an ITX board with four RAM slots, PCI-E, and other connectivity - so now it can be more than just an ATM.
I could actually get some content creation work done with this!
Not only that, but this actually seems to make use of the extra PCIe bandwidth. 10Gbps Ethernet is a really nice feature to have integrated. I don't like how you can have a perfectly good chipset "wasted" on a board that can't take advantage of it, but this one does.

Asus: There's only 1cm between the PCB and the video card. No choice but to install a tiny, high RPM fan for the chipset.
Asrock: Let's change the PCB design so that the chipset is elsewhere and there's room for a decent passive heat sink.

I wonder how it will be priced.

So this doesn't have a 24-pin power connector... Has an 8-pin and two 4-pin EPS connectors so I'm guessing that second 4-pin at the bottom-right corner is what is powering the motherboard? But that means you'll also need a PSU with three EPS cables since the two 4-pins are both the left side of a 4+4 cable along with the 8-pin.
