ASRock Rack E3C256D2I Mini-ITX motherboard compatible with the Xeon E-2300 series

A new Mini-ITX motherboard that is compatible with the Xeon E-2300 series processors has been released. The chipset is an Intel C256, and the socket is an LGA1200, both of which are compatible with the Intel Pentium series of the 10th generation.

Intel i210 and Intel i219-LM servers are used in the network, which also includes a management gigabit LAN, which is provided by Realtek RTL8211E. It also contains an Aspeed AST2500 graphics chip for management, as well as 256MB of DDR4 dedicated video RAM. One of the most important features is the presence of two DDR4-3200 memory slots (with a maximum capacity of 64GB and ECC compatibility), two OCuLink (SATA3.0x4 or U.2 x 1) x2 ports, and one M.2 (PCI-Express4.0x4) port for storage. In the expansion slot, there is a PCI-Express4.0 (x16) x1 bus interface.

The back interface consists of the following components: USB3.2 Gen.2 Type-Ax2, USB3.2 Gen.1 Type-Ax2, D-Subx1, UID Button / UID LEDx1, D-Subx2. The board measures 170.2 x 170.2 mm in size.

There are ECC SO-DIMMs. That way you get the best of both worlds: more room to fit more memory, and ECC support.

Frankly, I don't really understand why "regular" DIMMs are still a thing, at least for desktops. I can see how fitting 256GB on a SO-DIMM would be difficult.
