ASRock Launches New Model PCIe 5.0 SSD Blazing M.2 Gen5 Fan-Heatsink for Z790 Motherboard and B650E Taichi

ASRock announced its new Blazing M.2 Gen5 Fan-Heatsink, which features a fan for PCIe 5.0 SSD. The latest product is a variation model following Type-1/Type-2, and it is intended to enhance the cooling of the PCI Express 5.0 (x4) connected SSD (M.2) without causing any interference with the CPU cooler and graphics card.

The new models, equipped with a built-in 30x30x10mm fan, is compatible with specific motherboards, including the Z790 and B650E Taichi. ASRock has also provided a compatibility table for each motherboard, including existing models, on their official website.

This latest addition to the Blazing M.2 Gen5 Fan-Heatsink series is part of ASRock's effort to expand its product line and offer advanced cooling solutions for PCIe 5.0 SSDs. The previous Type-1 and Type-2 models were released in December 2022 and gained popularity among PC enthusiasts due to their excellent cooling performance. ASRock's new Blazing M.2 Gen5 Fan-Heatsink is expected to provide users with a powerful cooling solution for their PCIe 5.0 SSDs, ensuring optimal performance and longevity.

So, the prices in EUR would be:

  • Blazing M.2 Gen5 Fan-Heatsink TYPE-3 (Silver): €31.87
  • Blazing M.2 Gen5 Fan-Heatsink TYPE-4 (Black): €31.87
  • Blazing M.2 Gen5 Fan-Heatsink TYPE-5 (Taichi): €31.87

I'll stick to Gen4 which can be passively cooled, thank you.

PC tech is going entirely the wrong direction lately when it comes to heat output, especially CPUs and NVME's.

Phoronix tested the Inland TD510, the highest temp during 10 hours was 60 degrees, the heatsink is super badly designed, so a better designed passive heatsink should last to at least filling the drive up.
