ASRock Going Strong thanks to AMD Ryzen
Taiwan based ASRock has been reporting strong revenues due to the simple effect that AMD Ryzen is selling so strong. ASRock, after seeing its 2019 revenues surge 31.61% on year to a record high of US$443.16 million, is expected to extend the growth momentum into 2020 mainly on increased shipment ratio for motherboards paired with AMD chipsets.
Digitimes reports that the firm saw lackluster sales of motherboards and graphics cards in the first half of 2019 but started to register stable shipments of PC motherboards with higher average selling prices (ASP) as well as profitable shipments of IPC and server solutions in the third quarter, with the quarter's revenues surging over 35% sequentially to a record high of NT$3.87 billion and net earnings shooting up 110% on quarter to NT$208 million.
These factors, coupled with graphics cards sales also beginning to turn profitable in late 2019 and successful development of the US and European markets, are expected to drive the firm's revenues to a new high in 2020, the sources said.
As ASRock has sharply boosted its adoption ratios for AMD's PC, server and graphics card processor solutions, the company is expected to significantly benefit from ever-increasing market shares for the chipmaker's 7nm processors in 2020, the sources continued.
Meanwhile, ASRock has newly appointed Genuine and Weikeng Industrial as its sales agents in Taiwan for DeskMini series, mainly DeskMini A300 carrying AMD A300 chipset and DeskMini 310 adopting Intel H310 chipset.

and not just Ryzen mobo's, but Threadripper as well. Asrock is far more compelling in that arena with strong VRM performance (sometimes surprisingly so given spec) and compelling price points. for Ryzen Asrock has been applying the newer tech with more rapidity than others (i.e. 2 M.2's on gen 1 Ryzen, etc...) and really giving that value proposition without feeling cheap.

And when first gen Ryzen motherboards were released, Asrock wasn't making lengthy efforts to have the best from the bunch.
But they were cheap and good enough.
Second gen got Asrock team on the right track, and latest gen pushed to the next level.
Kudos to AMD, they really gave us all something to remember with Ryzen.
