We mentioned a while ago already that the Fury X makes use of Cooler master liquid cooler and that CM is in a legal struggle with Asetek. Asetek has attacked many parties like Corsair and NZXT in the past already. Asetek now wants cease the sales of Fury X.

They had a win in a patent infringement case against Cooler Master (CMI) in 2014. Well, they want money of course. According to Asetek the Fury X makes use of a model from Cooler master that infringes the Asetek patent. Asetek now has confirmed to Gamer Nexus that the patent-case has been expanded and that it is aiming its arrows at AMD. The lawyers from Aseterk have send out a cease and desists to AMD. AMD has not yet responded to the allegations.

It is getting even wider, Asetek also want the liquid cooled GeForce GTX 980 from Nvidia with N980WAOC-4GD (Gigabyte) out of the market as this one again makes use of a Cooler Master cooler, the Seidon 120M. Patents  8245764 and 8240362  are infringed in the USA, the patent hold the liquid cooling sequence and the pump located in the block. This entails the Seidon 120M, Seidon 120XL, Seidon 240M, Seidon 120V, Seidon 120V Plus, Nepton 140XL, [Nepton 280L], Glacer 240L.

Slowly but steadily Asetek has monopolized this market and they are becoming a growing concern to the industry and you as an end-user.
