Arkham Knight on PC Won't Go back On Sale Until Spring?
In an internal email sent to EB Games staff members it is stated that, according to Warner, the PC version of Batman: Arkham Knight will not be fixed until Spring 2016.
EB Games has already removed all PC versions of the game from stores but — as a result of this news — now intends to send all PC copies of the game back to Warner.
“As previously advised,” read an internal EB Games email, “we have stopped sales of Batman: Arkham Knight PC while Warner and Rocksteady work on addressing performance issues with the game. The latest information from Warner is that the updates won’t be available until Spring. Due to this we have made the difficult decision to recall all PC stock from stores to return to the vendor until an acceptable solution is released.”
“Spring” is vague, and refers to Australian spring which is only two months away, but the delay on a fix has been deemed significant enough for EB Games to return all stock back to Warner locally. That in itself, seems telling.
Rocksteady has released a small fix for the PC version of Batman: Arkham Knight, but none of the major performance issues have been addressed. Sales of the game are still suspended on Steam.
We’ve contacted Warner locally, and will update if they respond with an official statement.

My last update to my previous posts about performance in this game.
I've just fine tuned my final settings for Batman Arkham Knight, turns out some of the settings have a big effect in the game in comparison to only a smaller effect in the benchmark. I've gone with: 1600x900 (native res), Shadows Low, Level of Detail Normal, AA, Textures Normal (the highest), Rain Effect On, Light Shafts On, Debris Off, Fog Off. Everything's the same as my previous settings except the stuff in Bold (they were on max before). Gives a benchmark of 42 avg, 33 min. In game I've used FRAPS to benchmark & constantly gliding around the city & grapnel boosting I'm getting 42 avg. In street battles I'm getting 36 avg. No hitching and zero stuttering with these settings (and that's on an HDD)! My previous unoptimised settings I was getting 27-35fps in fights and 36 fps avg when gliding & grapnelling. So, decreasing Shadows & Level of Detail made a big difference actually in game for me - I didn't notice any decrease in graphics quality, although maybe I would have done if I did comparison screenshots.
I'll still hold off for the forthcoming patch in August (that will come before the game goes back on sale), so I'll put this game to one side with the hope I can eek out a few more frames while maybe upping the settings once the patch comes in, for a better gaming experience. Certainly seems playable right now though for me. The story & atmosphere of the game look like they're gonna be good, so a shame not to wait for all the technical fixes to do it justice!
