Arctic Cooling preps HD 5970 cooler, also Fermi

by Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 03/04/2010 11:28 AM | source: | 0 comment(s)

Check out Arctic Cooling's Radeon HD 5970 cooling solution, and heard that the company is working on a cooling solution for Fermi. The cooler for the HD 5970 will be used by AIBs for their upcoming HD 5970 OC 4GB card .

Another confirmation is that AC is working on theor cooling design for a GeForce GTX 480 (Fermi) and likely GTX 470 cooler that is quieter and cools better than the NVIDIA reference design heatsink. Based on NVIDIA's expected launch schedule (end of March), the Accelero Xtreme for GTX 480 hopfully will be available in volume around the same time you will see NVIDIA's new card come to store shelves near you.

AC has a reputation for awesome cooling at a silent noiselevel. One downside, that design will certainly eat up at least three PCIe slots !
