Weird resolution for such a small screen. Make it 2560x1440, already much better and you wont notice a difference. Id personally go for 1080p res, Gtx 1060 is a good card, and at such resolution this laptop would be able to run modern games easily for several years to come.
At least my opinion.
Totally agree. The most adequate resolution for the gtx 1060 and for that small screen is 1080p.
Imagine how small Windows UI will look on that small nearly 4k res screen...

Nothing is weird about 3200x1800. It's been in use since early 2014, starting with the Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 2 Pro and the Samsung Ativ Book 9 Plus.
You would quite easily notice the difference between 3200x1800 and 2560x1440 at that size. 3200x1800 is around 264PPI. 2560x1440 is ~211PPI. Such a difference is easily noticeable, especially with such laptops that are used up close. 1080p is ~158PPI, so let it die.
Weird? No. Pretty, actually. Stressful to a 1060? Yes.

2009 called. It wants Windows 7 back.
Seriously, Windows 10 DPI scaling is flawless. Blame apps that are not DPI-aware for staying in 1999. They are falling by the day. On my 4K Dell XPS 15 9550 I can count probably 1 or 2 apps that do not scale. This machine is used as a development machine and I run pretty much everything on it (aside from demanding games).

Honestly I ran my QHD monitor with a 980 for a year before I got this card. I had no issues - 1060 in a laptop might be more thermally constrained, but overall I think it would be fine.
Also, the new W10 insider builds actually make some nice improvements to DPI scaling (https://www.reddit.com/r/Windows10/comments/5ib4iv/video-of-the-improved-high-dpi-support-with/db6qkni/) and there is supposed to be more to come before the next redstone.

True. I have a 4K display on my 15" and it is impossible to use Windows 1:1 - text looks positively gorgeous though. I have a 1070, so I can actually game at 4K in older titles, but 1080p still looks absolutely fine and runs like a charm.
Seriously, Windows 10 DPI scaling is flawless.
I usually agree with you on most things, but not this. Windows 10 scaling is still broken. I'll start up a game then go back to desktop, only to find things resized or whatever. Luckily, excepting my work laptop, I can get away with 1:1 scale, so don't have issues.
