AOC unleashes two 34-inch 21:9 screens with a 1440p VA panel

AOC releases two new monitors in their G2 series. The CU34G2 and the CU34G2X are both curved 34-inch screens with a 21: 9 ratio and a VA panel. They differ in maximum frame rate, contrast and connections. 



Both will become available in January, the CU34G2 gets a 100 Hz VA panel with Freesync between 30 and 100 Hz. The contrast is 3000:1 with a maximum brightness of 300 cd / m2 . With a resolution of 3440 x 1440 pixels, the image is about as sharp as a 27"1440p monitor. With 1500R, the curvature is somewhat stronger than the usual 1800R. adjustable with 2x HDMI 2.0 or display port 1.2.

The CU34G2X boasts an impressive 144 Hz refresh rate, perfectly suited for competitive gamers, while the CU34G2 employs a 100 Hz refresh rate. Both the CU34G2 and CU34G2X’s panels with their 34” diagonal are around the same height as widescreen (16:9) 27” displays, giving plenty of screen space and viewing comfort for everyday tasks, too. This, coupled with the high 3440 x 1440 resolution results in a good combination with a comfortable and detailed 109 ppi pixel density.

For users that want the upper hand in gaming, AOC offers other gaming specific features too. The AOC Game Color adjusts saturation for better grey levels and picture detail, and Dial Point displays crosshairs for aiming support. A built-in 4-port USB hub and the audio in/outputs also make it easy to connect peripherals.

Both screens are available from January. The 100 Hz CU34G2 will cost € 469 and the 144 Hz CU34G2X € 579.
