A rather uncommon resolution. AOC are set to release what is expected to be a competitively priced 34” monitor compared with recent and forthcoming offerings from LG (34UM95) and Dell (U3415W). This new range of ultra-wide cinema style screens offer a huge 34” screen size, 21:9 aspect ratio and 3440 x 1440 resolution.

The screen is AH-IPS technology based and offers a 5ms G2G response time 1000:1 contrast ratio, 320 cd/m2 brightness, 178/178 viewing angles, 10-bit colour depth (8-bit+FRC) and an sRGB standard gamut backlight system. The backlight is reportedly controlled using a flicker free method, which suggests AOC may be focusing more on user eye-care in their coming models.

The u3477Pqu offers a fully adjustable stand and seems to offer an ultra-thin bezel design. There are DisplayPort, DL-DVI, HDMI (with MHL) and VGA connections available. There are also 2x USB 3.0 and 2x USB 2.0 ports on the monitor along with some audio connections. Some simple 3W stereo speakers are included.

The u3477Pqu is expected to be released in July, price is yet to be confirmed but expected to be lower than the LG and Dell equivalents.
