The BenQ PD3205U is built on a strong foundation, with high-resolution image editing and design work as its primary objectives. It is constructed of brushed metal with a dark matte finish to give it a premium appearance and feel.

32-inch monitors with a 3840 x 2160 ('4K' UHD) resolution provide a high pixel density while also providing a large amount of 'desktop space. The top and side bezels are two-stage, consisting of a thin panel border flush with the rest of the screen and a thin hard plastic outer part that is flush with the rest of the screen. When viewed from the front, the OSD is controlled by a set of buttons and a joystick located at the rear of the device, towards the right side. Alternatively, you can use the included wired 'Hotkey Puck G2' remote. IPS-type panel with 3840 x 2160 ('4K' UHD) resolution and 60Hz refresh rate is used in conjunction with the 31.5′′ display. Adaptive-Sync is supported, including AMD FreeSync, which has a VRR range of 40 to 60 frames per second. In addition to using an anti-glare screen surface, the specification calls for a 1000:1 static contrast ratio as well as 178°/178° viewing angles, as well as 10-bit (8-bit + FRC assumed) color support. AQCOLOR is a factory calibration setting that specifies an average DeltaE of 3 within the sRGB color space, as well as the inclusion of Uniformity Compensation (UC) in the monitor. Pantone Validation and Calman Verification are also included with the monitor, which has Solidworks certification. There are a number of gamma options available, ranging from '1.8' to '2.6' and including'sRGB'. A flicker-free WLED backlight provides 99 percent sRGB color space coverage and a typical maximum luminance of 250 cd/m2 (350 cd/m2 HDR peak) while maintaining low power consumption. The monitor is equipped with the manufacturer's standard collection of well-balanced Low Blue Light (LBL) settings, and it is capable of responding to HDR10 content. This enables the use of its 10-bit color processing, but it does not necessitate the use of local dimming, a high level of brightness in accordance with HDR standards, or a sufficiently wide gamut for HDR content.

This model has a 5ms grey to grey response time and AMA (Advanced Motion Acceleration) adjustable pixel overdrive, but don't pay too much attention to such figures because they aren't particularly important. The stand provides complete ergonomic flexibility, including height adjustment up to 110mm (4.33 inches) and pivoting into portrait mode. It is attached using a quick-release mechanism and can be removed to reveal 100 x 100mm VESA mounting holes for use with other mounting systems if desired. Several ports, including an AC power input (internal power converter), HDMI 2.0, DP 1.4, USB-C (90W PD, DP Alt Mode, upstream data), two USB 3.2 ports (plus two upstream), and a 3.5mm headphone port are located on the bottom of the device, beneath a removable plastic cover. When looking at the device from the front, the USB-C downstream port, third USB 3.2 port, and 3.5mm headphone jack are all located on the right side of the screen. In addition to KVM and PiP/PbP functionality, 2 x 2.5W speakers are included as standard. Further details can be found on the manufacturer's website, with pricing and availability information to be released in the near future.
