The AMD Processor Programming Reference (PPR) guide for AMD Family 19h Model 70h CPUs reveals that AMD Zen4/Phoenix CPUs may support a hybrid architecture with two types of cores: Performance and Efficiency.



These names are similar to what Intel uses for their hybrid design (Performance/Efficient Cores), indicating that the hybrid architecture is likely coming to the consumer CPU space. It's worth noting that the naming in the programming guide may differ from the names used for marketing purposes.

In a move to enhance its market competitiveness, AMD is introducing a hybrid CPU design that will feature two sets of cores with different feature sets. With this design, similar to ARM's BIG.little architecture, AMD aims to achieve high performance levels while maintaining power efficiency. To assist software designers in utilizing this design, the company has released a document with guidelines. Recently, there have been leaks about the upcoming release of AMD Phoenix APUs that will also feature this hybrid design. An alleged Phoenix 2 APU with this design was spotted last week, and reports suggest that it may be similar or identical to the design to be featured in the upcoming release. Interestingly, AMD's Zen 4c cores, which were only mentioned in relation to its EPYC "Bergamo" CPUs, may also be implemented in other market segments.
