It's been five years that the first Ryzen processors have been released. AMD posted an interview containing some nice details, AMD confirms that the first Zen 3 CPUs with stacked 3D V-Cache will be released early next year.

The red camp's chief marketing officer, John Taylor, as well as its head of technical marketing, Robert Hallock, shared their thoughts on the company's 50th anniversary by teasing new items from the company's lineup. AMD confirms that the first Zen 3 CPUs with stacked 3D V-Cache will be released early next year, as previously reported. By employing this technique, an SRAM module is added to the top of each chiplet, increasing the amount of L3 cache that is available.

The increased L3 cache should be especially beneficial for PC games, since internal benchmarks indicate a 15% performance boost on average. Additionally, it has been verified that these new SKUs will utilize the AM4 socket, making them compatible with the latest AM4 motherboards when they become available. The issue of whether the current generation of laptop CPUs will be introduced in early 2022 is then addressed; this will also be the case. Despite the absence of names, it is almost certainly Rembrandt. These processors, according to speculations, will be manufactured on TSMC's 6nm process and will feature Zen 3 (+) cores as well as an RDNA 2 graphics processor. In any case, Hallock emphasizes the importance of efficiency: energy consumption will be further reduced as a result of a more refined algorithm and new power states.

AMD also offered a tidbit about its forthcoming Zen processor generation. To refute the notion that Zen 4 and AM5 will only support PCIe 4.0, Hallock confirmed that the new platform will also support PCIe 5.0 in addition to DDR5. Additionally, the new socket will share the same dimensions as its predecessor, which means that existing CPU coolers will work with it without requiring any additional mounting material. According to the business, the first CPUs based on the Zen 4 architecture will be available later in 2022.
