AMD X390 and X399 chipsets diagrams reveal HEDT Information

AMD X390 and X399 chipsets diagrams reveal HEDT Information

A Reddit user posted diagrams showing the unreleased X399/X390 platforms for AMDs High-end, well let's call them enthusiast class processors. These would be intended for the CPUs like we mentioned earlier today, the 16-core / 32-threaded parts. Much like the X99 platform from Intel.

Now first off a massive disclaimer, I cannot confirm that these diagrams are real hence this might be speculation. Then again, the detail in the diagrams is pretty deep, much more then you'd expect from a bit of a hobby job. The motherboard diagrams appears to be coming from ASUS, you can tell as there is an AURA ASIC on-board and that would be the AURA LED controller of course, proprietary to ASUS. Now this is an interesting fact, as we all assumed that the 16-core part might be a server processes series. However a server motherboard with RGB AURA connectivity, naah this is an enthusiast class consumer motherboard alright. The processor socket is designated as AM44, sounds a bit weird bit it definitely is bigger. Next to that you can spot eight DIMM slots.

AMD X399/X390

Then there are two more diagrams showing the X399 chipset for dual-CPU motherboards and X390 for single-CPU motherboard. The first diagram might be the workstation/server platform for Naples CPUs as it has ECC memory support. X390 corresponds to earlier rumors about Ryzen HEDT, which is meant for 16-core 32-thread Ryzen processors. So if you look at the info and those diagrams are a real thing then X390 chipset would support up to 44 PCI-Express lanes. That would be even more than Intel’s flagship Core i7 6950X on X99 platform (40 lanes). Interesting to see is that the dual-socket board is listing the processors as RZ4700, and the single socket version as RZ 2700.

Now there is no frickin way we can confirm the validity of these block diagrams, but they certainly are very interesting. Source: Reddit via videocardz.

Quad channel only appears on the RZ4700 not the RZ2700, the latter being dual channel, read the labeling closely.

hope it's all real and it's coming soon :) more fun for us to read more work for Hilbert writing about it :nerd:
oh and the so called RZ2700 dose have 4 memory channels A1,A2,B1,B2 in one DIMM slot each, again this is my humble opinion.
and do not forget we are still speculating without an actual AMD or one of the Mobo manufacture partners announcement.

Witch this and hopefully some bios update/windows patch that could help match intel in games and it will be checkmate until Intel either reduces their prices or brings out new cpu that are dramatically faster.
