AMD to release three new FX processors for September
AMD is preparing to announce three new FX processors on September 1, 2014 including models FX-8370, FX-8370E and FX-8320E. It is also stated that AMD will lower pricing of older FX processors and that there might be some new chipsets.
The new FX-series microprocessors from AMD, which are due to be formally introduced on September 1, 2014, are the FX-8370 and the FX-8370E reports xbitlabs:
The new FX-series microprocessors from AMD, which are due to be formally introduced on September 1, 2014, are the FX-8370 and the FX-8370E. Both chips feature eight cores, 4.10GHz/4.30GHz clock-rates, 8MB L2 cache, 8MB L3 cache and dual-channel DDR3 memory controllers. The FX-8370 will have thermal design power of 125W, whereas the FX-8370E will feature TDP of 95W. Both microprocessors will be priced at $189 in mass quantities.
In addition, AMD will also slash prices on existing FX-8300-series chips and introduce the model FX-8320E with 95W TDP.
Given the fact that the new AMD FX-8300-series microprocessors will not boost their performance significantly, it is unlikely that they will be significantly more competitive against Intel Corp.’s Core i3 and Core i5 than existing models.
According to unofficial information, AMD is trying to boost competitive positions of its central processing units and accelerated processing units in order to make them more competitive versus Intel’s fresh chips based on the code-named Haswell Refresh as well as Devil’s Canyon designs. In order to do that, AMD plans to slash prices, introduce some new chip models and even roll-out a new chipset for inexpensive PCs with USB 3.0 support.

Hey I would love to see a Amd chip that can compete core for core vs Intel but like everyone is saying its not going to happen with VIshera, hell ive been supporting Amd since I got into pc gaming I would love nothing more then to see them surpass Intel! But seems like to me like they are making some mistakes, 1st increase your per core performance, 2nd dont just keep adding more cores,3rd and this is the Dealbreaker for most people-$$$$$$ Money....... My next rig will be a A10 7850k so while I really enjoyed my time with the FX 8350 and 9370 I had I wasnt really blown away with the performance thats why I made that comment they schould stick to making Apus, we all know the I-GPU is the most important in benchmarks and games and they are clearly kicking Intels ass with the Apus, am I wrong?
When I buy a Cpu or Apu iam buying it for gaming strictly, I dont care what my cpu scores in Cinbench, STich fx, or any other of those tests, I want good gaming performane for my dollar and thats what Amd does best at the moment!

Well I'm at least glad that the prices are coming down. I'm going to buy me a 9590 (don't care about tdp or what other bs marketeers tout), just waiting for the chipsets that can better handle that chip; was waiting for the x99 & i7 5960x but my earlier combination of x79 & i7 3960x was such a pain that I don't want to deal with Intel anymore at this time.

220W TDP, what.
Maddening.
yea.. the fx-9000's were a bad joke... Same chip as the 8350, just higher binned and overclocked. Ive had mine (8350) up that high, while I did get it stable the heat even under water was rediculous. When you sell a chip with a warning that it will melt the VRMs on most motherboards and even on boards that can handle it you suggest rigging a fan to blow the VRMs, you should be put in timeout like a 2 year old. My sabertooth board was ok and I have plenty of airflow.. but if I was to keep it that high I would have needed a fan for the VRM's to feel comfortable with the board lasting. It didn't make a lick of difference for gaming (MAYBE 1fps) and only slashed about 2 minutes off of a clean, no ccache full Android compile.. so I just run it at 4.2.
