AMD to release three new FX processors for September
AMD is preparing to announce three new FX processors on September 1, 2014 including models FX-8370, FX-8370E and FX-8320E. It is also stated that AMD will lower pricing of older FX processors and that there might be some new chipsets.
The new FX-series microprocessors from AMD, which are due to be formally introduced on September 1, 2014, are the FX-8370 and the FX-8370E reports xbitlabs:
The new FX-series microprocessors from AMD, which are due to be formally introduced on September 1, 2014, are the FX-8370 and the FX-8370E. Both chips feature eight cores, 4.10GHz/4.30GHz clock-rates, 8MB L2 cache, 8MB L3 cache and dual-channel DDR3 memory controllers. The FX-8370 will have thermal design power of 125W, whereas the FX-8370E will feature TDP of 95W. Both microprocessors will be priced at $189 in mass quantities.
In addition, AMD will also slash prices on existing FX-8300-series chips and introduce the model FX-8320E with 95W TDP.
Given the fact that the new AMD FX-8300-series microprocessors will not boost their performance significantly, it is unlikely that they will be significantly more competitive against Intel Corp.’s Core i3 and Core i5 than existing models.
According to unofficial information, AMD is trying to boost competitive positions of its central processing units and accelerated processing units in order to make them more competitive versus Intel’s fresh chips based on the code-named Haswell Refresh as well as Devil’s Canyon designs. In order to do that, AMD plans to slash prices, introduce some new chip models and even roll-out a new chipset for inexpensive PCs with USB 3.0 support.

The spec for the 8320E is 3.2GHz not 3.5GHz and there's nothing new it's just a little jiggery pokery going on behind the scenes with clocks and Vcore

My opinion? Amd schould stick to making there Apus! They dont stand a chance against Intel with the Fx series as things stand currently, The Apus however compete much better on account of the strong i-Gpu. Just dump the Fx series all together and focus on making a good Apu for gamers.Ive had Fx 6100,8350,and 9370 none of which I can say I was really impressed with.I was much happier with my Richland 6800k chip.
I hope Amd is listening to its fan base, stick to Apus guys.
I will have to disagree with your statement saying that AMD should stick with making better Apus/i-Gpu.
It is about time for AMD to release a new CPU architecture, focusing more in per core performance to finally be able to compete against Intel or even surpass their current or upcoming CPU's in performance.
While Intel can't compete at the moment with AMD's powerful i-Gpu's, it is the other way around for their Cpu's.
If i remember correctly AMD's last CPU that was great and surpassed Intel was their Athlon series, until Intel launched their s775 Core 2 duo and quads.
Since then about 8 years ago which is a very long time Intel was and still is the only way to go for us power users seeking for High performing CPU's.
The Phenom II X4 was the last good CPU AMD released if i remember correctly.
Personally i hate the current situation when i have to upgrade my CPU and Intel being the only way to go while current AMD 8 core processors with their great pricing sound good to the ear for an average user on a tight budget they are just too way behind on per core performance and with high TDP to go along with it.
The lack of competition sucks for us users as Intel without any pressure from AMD is throwing at us minor upgrades in Cpu performance along with new sockets and chipsets almost every year.
It's just sad for me the way things are for PC enthusiasts who love to upgrade their hardware frequently making them throw money away to Intel for minor increases in performance.
The current state in this department is not that exciting for me any more, i mean i love upgrading to all new hardware and playing around with Overclocking but with all these minor cpu performance upgrades along with new sockets has made me lose interest and i find it a waste of money having to invest in a new Motherboard to get a new Cpu with a small percentage increase that will be almost unnoticeable in every day usage.
The only thing left at the moment that is still exciting for me is new GPU's.
I just love upgrading to each new series of GPU's when i can and at least that is one department that AMD is still competitive with their products against Nvidia.
Above all we get very good performance increases of around 40% each new generation......
I personally can't wait until next year when most of the all new next gen games will start appearing along with the Unreal 4 engine.
But first i want to get an idea of roughly how taxing they will be on the PC and their VRAM usage before i decide what single Gpu will be powerful enough to sustain at least most of the times 60fps at 1080p before upgrading my GTX 770 2gb.

wow AMD... I'm was a fanboy, for your processors anways.. My current chip is the 8350 and all I can figure you did with these is take the stock of current FX's you cant sell, made some adjustments, and slapped a new sticker on it. I'm assuming the E are just the chips that worked well at lower volts.
This in no way cuts it guys... My rig is in need of a total overhaul and Ill be purchasing my first Intel desktop CPU and MB come tax return time... sad.. very sad.. and to think I squealed a bit when I saw the headline.. I have heard rumors AMD was secretly working on a new performance desktop processor.. I sure hope these were not those.
