AMD to drop ATI branding

by Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 08/30/2010 11:17 AM | source: | 0 comment(s)
Guru3D.com ImageIt was rumored a couple of days ago already, but it seems to be somwhat confirmed. AMD wants to merge the CPU and GPU products under one brand, so you can expect the Radeon and FirePro series logo's to be removed in the nearby future.

Volkmann, AMD's vice president of global corporate marketing told THINQ the following:

"It's literally the standard battery of questions: Are you aware of this brand? Would you consider it? And then we ask a very specific form of a preference question."
"The Radeon brand and the ATI brand are equally strong with respect to conveying our graphics processor offering," he goes on to saying.
