When Corona started in Q1 an odd effect was visual in the Steam hardware database. AMD lost market share, we explained that could be due to the fact that many people at home fire up their older laptops and PCs, based on Intel processors. The effect was short term as it seems, AMD took back that market share already.

Last April, AMD's share rose from 19% to 22%, while Intel's fell to 78%. As we have said, the difference is still huge, but it is normal, users do not change PCs every so often, so it will take several years for the distance between them to be reduced significantly.

Windows 10 64-bit continues to dominate as the most widely used operating system, and the 16GB RAM settings remain slightly above the 8GB RAM as preference. Most users have a quad-core processor, six-core processors continue to rise. The most widely used graphics card is still the GeForce GTX 1060, followed by the GTX 1050 Ti. Mid-range models have a significant presence, and the GTX 1080 is the most widely used high-end model.
