AMD six-core desktop CPU expected by mid-2010
AMD is planning to introduce a six-core desktop processor by mid-2010. This chip will aim at Intel's Gulftown, which is expected to be available in Q2 2010. AMD will be at a disadvantage though, as its chip will be 45nm while Gulftown will be 32nm.
It is likely that AMDis tweaking and optimizing Istanbul to make it more suitable for Desktop usage. AMD
