AMD silently injects AMD Radeon R7 250X

The R7 Series has garnereed significant attention in the market with a wide number of board designs available from our AIB partners, providing more choice for consumers. There continues to be a strong demand for a $99 gaming card which is why AMD is introducing the AMD Radeon R7 250X.

The AMD Radeon R7 250X delivers the price, performance and value of the AMD Radeon HD7770 GHz Edition with branding consistent with the rest of the AMD Radeon R7 series. The AMD Radeon R7 250X provides the best graphics gaming performance at $99 USD / EUR 69 + VAT.&  With DirectX 11.2 and Mantle support, the R7 250X is ideally suited for 1080p gaming and includes full support for AMD Eyefinity technology as well as AMD ZeroCore Power technology.

The cards will get 640 Shader processors that may be clocked up-to 1 GHz. That makes it a 1.28 TFLOPS card. Though there will be 1 GB models, the reference cards are equipped with 2 GB of graphics memory running on a 128-bit wide memory bus (4.5 Gbps). The card has a 95 Watt TDP.

I don't understand why are they marketing this as a gaming card? Are all graphic cards now considered as gaming cards?

I believe there is a big market for gamers who mostly play Dota2 or starcraft2. 100$ gfx card to "mainly" play dota2 is not bad.
~ just a thought.

Well for gaming at 720p LoL, Dota, PoE, WoW it should be enough. Not everyone need 290x.

Eh, Dota 2 needs a relatively beefy computer to play maxed out without the frames dropping down.

Hmm, didn't really know that lol.
I sold my 7970 pair and now I'm using 550ti as my backup card. I do play dota2 on weekends and difference is barely noticeable. Not sure, may be the rest of the system is the helping factor here.
