AMD Ryzen CPU Photos Surface

AMD Ryzen CPU Photos Surface

Gotta love the vibe, check the photos after the break. It seems that an OEM or something leaked photos of multiple 12-unit trays of AMD Ryzen processors.

If you look at the photos (courtesy of videocardz) you can see "Ryzen" laser etched onto the heatspreaders (IHS). The processors are showing several products codes so there definitely will be some choices at launch alright. Well it's just pretty pictures of course, have a peek.

Yeah it seems AMD is on a roll, this will be a big launch.

No idea why people think pins on the CPU are a bad thing... I mean sure, you might bend one if you're a clutz. I did once, and I just unbent it... sure, you can't keep doing that, it'll eventually snap, but you generally shouldn't be taking in and out your CPU all the time, soooo.

intel fanboys find all sort of bugs on zen, like cpu pins, like single thread perf, like power, like too cheap, to many cores etc.
When Zen appear we get back on the track.
My best friend an intel maniac, says to me that he never will use an amd, but back in the days he used them alot.
In his mind those with amd play maybe Tetris or so.....those are intel fanboys.
Im the fan of my money, if zen is cheaper then same intel, i choose zen.
WTF an 1000$ an cpu? With that money i get another subwoofer...we never get enough of them.
And today with games like watch dogs 2 we need many cores.

Didn't intel change the pins the way they are now because of the cpu coolers they were using ripping out the processor from the socket?

I remember breaking an intel cpu this way xD
It's naive to think Intel does anything ever for anything other than profit. They removed the pins from their CPUs to cut costs and no other real reason. They give zero ****s about durability or practicality, only profit.

It "feels" nice to have the pins on the mobo rather than the CPU so we don't have to worry so much about damaging pins when installing or removing a CPU... But the reality is it's probably more dangerous that way, how much pressure and how many reinsertions of the CPU can motherboard pins actually take? I saw someone post that the specifications (from Intel?) state 15 times. Even though in reality it's probably more than that, that's still worrying for someone like myself who needs to repeatedly remove the CPU.

Yeah, if you pull a heatsink directly up it's going to rip it out of the socket, I did that the first time, but that's not going to really damage it. Not to mention that's only an issue for inexperienced users who are removing the heatsink. Most people never deal with that sort of thing and those who do, like us, learn.

I, for one, welcome our new legged overlords.

All hail the square millipede!

Joking aside, pins on the cpu versus pins on the board don't make a bit of difference to me. I cannot wait for Ryzen!

Straight long pins of AMD cpus kinda scares me.

Stupid question, but why they don't design more flat design like Intel CPU?

I think i´ve read somewhere that Intel has some type of patent or legal rights regarding the cpu socket design and they don´t want to share them with AMD... But i really don´t know if this is true.

Anyway i just want one thing from AMD: the 1600X, or 1500 if the 1600 is too expensive, and i want it now!!!
So give it to me AMD and i will gladly change to the dark side!
