AMD Ryzen BoxArt and Capsaicin Event at GDC 2017

AMD Ryzen BoxArt and Capsaicin Event at GDC 2017

Alright, I've folded, there will not be one single day without any mention of AMD and Ryzen until it launches I'm afraid. As you guys have seen, several webshops have shown Ryzen processors specs, models and prices. One thing that hasn't surfaced was the boxart. Until today that is.

The packaging was posted on a Thai based retailer. Have a peek at the thumbnails below to get en idea.

Other then that we have one more thing to report, AMD will be holding Capsaicin Event at GDC 2017 which is held February the 28th. The event actually is called "Capsaicin & Cream", and thus coincides with the Ryzen launch. It is likely that they will showcase some VEGA as well of course. The event will be split into two segments, a Livestream in-between 10.30am and 11.30pm PST, with a "feature-packed show highlighting the hottest new graphics and VR technologies"; and then a AMD will host a closed developers session from 2.30pm to 5pm PST for GDC-attendees.

Right well who knows, tomorrow (Wednesday) perhaps could be one day without any AMD Ryzen news .. right?

Around $340 & $385 USD for the 1700 and 1700X respectively on this Thai retailer's listing!

All of these leaks from the various retailers are showing similar pricing, so while AMD hasn't come out with official MSRPs, I feel at this point that we are narrowing in on a pretty good idea of what to expect...and I cannot wait! Assuming Broadwell-E level performance, these prices for the 1700(X) are just absolutely amazing!

When I see "capsaicin" I think of the pain relieving cream (which is good stuff btw). I'm confused as to how this correlates with Ryzen? Is it bringing the pain relief from Intel's past 5-6 years of stagnation? lol Looking forward to it in any case.
