AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D is 6% faster in gaming than Core i9-13900K

If we can believe the reviewer's guide that got leaked today by HD technologica. The highly-anticipated AMD Ryzen 7000X3D processor has been leaked, revealing performance comparisons with the Core i9-13900K.

The leak includes data from a confidential review guide and shows that the flagship Ryzen 9 7950X3D model has been tested against the Core i9-13900K with both Radeon RX 7900 XTX and NVIDIA RTX 4090 GPUs. The new processor boasts an extended L3 cache and is being compared to the original 7950X model without the cache. Given the impressive results from the previous Ryzen 7 5800X3D with Zen3, expectations are high for the new Zen4 desktop processor. While these review guides tend to focus on optimized games and may not represent real-world performance, they offer an early glimpse into the upcoming CPU's capabilities.

The upcoming Ryzen 9 7950X3D processor, outperforms Intel's i9-13900K by 5.6% in 22 games when paired with the Radeon RX 7900 XT. The differences in performance range from 26.9% in Horizon Zero Down to Intel's superiority in games like Far Cry 6.

When paired with an RTX 4090, the Ryzen 9 7950X3D is 6% faster than the i9-13900K and up to 16% faster than the Ryzen 9 7950X. However, in multicore performance, Intel comes out on top in almost all tests, including popular ones like Cinebench R23 and Geekbench 5.4. The i9-13900K is also $90 cheaper and a better option for those prioritizing multicore performance. The Ryzen 9 7950X3D may be the better option for gamers with a high-end graphics card, although both the 7950X3D and the 13900K are pricey and not necessary for gaming when a more affordable i5 or Ryzen 5 can suffice. These are official AMD benchmarks, and reviews will provide more insight into the actual performance of the Ryzen 9 7950X3D and its younger sibling, the Ryzen 9 7900X3D.

Next week, Ryzen 9 7950X3D will go on sale for $699. This is how much the 7950X CPU cost when it first came out last year. However, that AMD CPU is now much cheaper and can be found for around $589. The Intel Core i9-13900K costs $569,-

I don't think that both are in the same class: from the price point of view 7950X3D is flying solo as "pricey" - 13900k MSRP was 589$ so 110 $ cheaper and you can find it now with 529$ which is not bad at all...I think that 7950X3D is a marketing mistake - expensive, complicated to use with more bios settings... the only one worth it will be 7800X3D.

I don't believe a random leaker, but I do believe that you must be testing at least one of those CPUs by now and wouldn't post a completely bogus rumour if there wasn't any substance to it.

The 7800X3D should be faster than the 7950X3D in gaming though.

Comparing msrp is nonsense as they never actually mean anything anymore, it's been a while but here in Canada anytime I check AMD is always far better value.
Intel has only beaten AMD recently in some of the low and mid end and even then their motherboards are more expensive.

Only 16% above the 7950X. That's not much.
For Zen4 owners, it might be better to just tune the memory and save good chunk of cash.
