AMD Ryzen 9 3950X Spotted at etailer - available September 30th ?
There is one processor in the Ryzen 3000 lineup that is due for a release soon enough, of course, that is not just the 16-core part, but also the part with the fastest advertised boost clock, the Ryzen 9 3950X. AMD indicated that the product would be released this very month, and that indeed does seem to be the case.
So far in price search engines, the SKU is listed as 'AMD Ryzen 9 3950X, 16x 3.50GHz, boxed (100-100000051BOX)', however, there was no price or stock availability shown. There is one Swiss etailer website though that is listing the Ryzen 9 3950X to be available for 999 Swiss francs. Which is roughly 925~950 euros. With varying exchange rates and VAT that is in line with the mentioned retail price of $749 indicated by AMD.
Ryzen 9 3950X is a 16c/32t processor with a 3.5 GHz base and 4.7 GHz Boost clock. This is a 105 Watt TDP proc, and as it seems available starting September 30th.

No, requirements are different.
For 3900X, you need 2 chiplets which can reach high enough clock, but have 2 worthless cores each.
For 3950X, you need 2 well clocking chiplets with all cores working. For practical reasons 3950X shares chiplets with 3800X.
I hope that it will put a pressure on 3900X prices (maybe with increased availability since I guess that defective 3950X cores will become 3900X cpu's) - this is the one I want but I can't pay that obscene amount of money and expect 3 weeks for it with no guarantee.

I'd take that price with a grain of salt, cause it's a swiss side. Things are more expensive there in general.
The 2700X Anniversary Edition ist listet there with 379€ (https://www.digitec.ch/de/s1/product/amd-ryzen-7-2700x-50th-anniversary-gold-edition-8-am4-370ghz-prozessor-11038381?origin=OSA-5241)
Where as the same CPU is available on mindfactory.de for roughly 240 bucks (237,90€ @ 10.Sept.2019 12:48 CET)-> https://www.mindfactory.de/product-info.php/AMD-Ryzen-7-2700X-50th-Anniversary-Edition-8x-3-70GHz-So-AM4-BOX-1306244.html
So don't panic. ;-)
