I'm pretty sure you've followed our articles on yesterday's Ryzen 3000 announcements. You will have noticed that the Ryzen 9 3900X is the proc with the most cores, 12 of them with 24 threads and a Boost to 4.6 GHz. Of course, with two CPU dies we're going to see 14 and 16-core models as well, hopefully later this year.

We expect 14 and 16-core procs based on Ryzen 3000 at some point, perhaps in the Christmas season? There is little to no reason for AMD to not do that. We're also pretty sure that with 12-core Ryzen 3000 procs already in validation, that there will be some manufacturers giggling as they perhaps opened up 16-core support. And what do you know, a new benchmark has leaked showing a mysterious 16-core proc from AMD. From the looks of things, this was an overclocked product due to the High Voltage. The screenshots below are from Tech YES City, what should we call that proc, a Ryzen 9 3950X or 3990X? The source is not known, so please do take these screenshots with the usual disclaimers. Earlier rumors have indicated this 16c/32t proc to get a 4200 MHz boost clock.
