In contrast to prior reports of an AMD Ryzen 7000 and 600-series motherboard launch on September 15 (which AMD confirmed during an internal meeting with partners and motherboard makers), the company could  introduce its new desktop series two weeks later on September 27.

Videocardz manetions AMD informed its partners last week of a probable 2-week launch delay. MyDrivers claims the exact date, which coincides with Intel's Innovation event, citing their own sources. Intel is expected to unveil its 13th Generation Raptor Lake-S desktop range at Innovation. The hard launch date set by AMD denotes product availability. On September 27, neither AMD nor Intel have confirmed a product launch or announcement. The site still cites August 29/30 as the Ryzen 7000 series launch date, so it's possible that nothing has changed.

  • AMD Ryzen 7000 Announcement – August 29th 8:00PM ET → TBC
  • AMD Ryzen 7000 Launch – September 15th → September 27th
A September 27 release date might still imply a late-August product reveal with Gamescom, followed by product evaluations in the weeks that follow. The market release date has been moved out to late September. Intel may introduce "Raptor Lake" in late September, however it is unknown if product availability will be immediate or delayed by several weeks.  The release of AMD's Ryzen 7000-series products will coincide with the release of compatible Socket AM5 motherboards based on the AMD 600-series chipset and a new range of DDR5 memory modules.

According to earlier leaks, AM5 may initially offer the following four Zen 4 Ryzen 7000 series CPU SKUs:

  • Ryzen 9-7950X (16 cores/32 threads, 4.5/5.7GHz, 16MB L2 + 64MB L3, 170W TDP)
  • Ryzen 9-7900X (12 cores/24 threads, 4.7/5.6GHz, 12MB L2 + 64MB L3, 170W TDP)
  • Ryzen 7-7700X (8 cores/16 threads, 4.5/5.4GHz, 8MB L2 + 32MB L3, 105W TDP)
  • Ryzen 5-7600X (6 cores/12 threads, 4.7/5.3GHz, 6MB L2 + 32MB L3, 105W TDP)
