Amen, some folks have severe tunnel vision and silly expectations, when did anything newer or better cost less than the older version?
X3d are out this year they have already said, I personally am thnking after Intel releases its CPU AMD will drop the x3ds for games to try and upset Intels party on all counts, power, MC and Games with the X3d with of course the added benefit of long term socket life.
Me am looking for a 7950 as soon as its available

5nm ? pcie4 on the chipset, apu ??? , no vcache ? how much tdp ? is this a joke ?
looks to me like a placeholder or better say 'fake' competition against intel, they had to release something i guess so they pumped up a mobile chip into desktop segment. well i think the 2-3nm with no apu, pcie 6 everywhere, heaps of vcache and a tdp of max 65w with clocks speeds of 6ghz+ and new mem tech would be my next build. but what is this here ? im not even talking x86_64, 40 years old. no wonder we are still stuck at this min levels of ghz. pressing the last drop out of the stone.

Even without 3d cache, a 7800x will be a nice jump from my 5600x.
Buying a new cpu, board, and ram feels more worthy then me dropping $450+ for a 5800x3d.
I know someone who just picked up a 5950x for $399. Lucky SOB lol
If they had the 3D V-cache chips, I'd be doing the same

It's worth remembering that Zen4 is really just Zen3 ported to 5nm - I guess the reason they call it Zen4 is because of the addition of AVX512 - Zen 5 will likely be the next major improvement.
I imagine clock for clock, performance will be similar, with IPC improvements only being related to the cache increases

New motherboard and RAM, yes, for the first time in years, and people are not happy.
They want faster this, more energy efficient that, lower priced whatever, its the real world people.
You will never get Faster AND Cheaper AND More efficient, best you can hope for is two of the above.
