In accordance with leaked prices for several upcoming AMD Ryzen processors, the AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D, the company's ambitious new 8-core/16-thread Socket AM4 processor that claims to match or beat the Core i9-12900K "Alder Lake" in gaming performance, will launch at an MSRP of USD $449.
The 5800X3D is clocked lower than the 5800X, at 3.40 GHz base and 4.50 GHz boost speeds, however the tremendous 96 MB L3 cache provided by the 3D Vertical Cache memory more than compensates for this shortcoming. The Ryzen 7 5700X is a new 8-core/16-thread processor that is worth taking a look at. It is based on the "Vermeer" MCM, exactly like the 5800X, and differs from the 5700G, which is built on monolithic silicon from the "Cezanne" family. The 5700X has a base frequency of 3.40 GHz and a boost frequency of 4.60 GHz, whereas the 5800X has a base frequency of 3.80 GHz and a boost frequency of 4.70 GHz. The Ryzen 7 5700X will be available for purchase at a suggested retail price of $299, implying that AMD is lowering the suggested retail price of the Ryzen 5 5600X, which previously held this price position. The 'cheap' 65W 8-core CPU is rumored to ship at a price of 299 USD. This CPU operates at a base clock speed of 3.4 GHz, 400 MHz slower than the 5800X. However, the boost clock will be reduced by just 100 MHz as Videocardz reitterates.
AMD is also offering two Ryzen 5 CPUs with six cores: the 5600 and 5500. In contrast to prior reports, both SKUs allegedly support SMT (so they have 12 threads). However, there is a slight variation in clock speeds: the 5600 features 3.5/4.4 GHz base and boost frequencies, while the 5500 features 3.6 and 4.2 GHz base and boost frequencies, respectively. Additionally, it appears as though the 5500 comes with 16MB of L3 cache, whereas the 5600 comes with 32MB. This is most likely due to the fact that 5500 is based on Cezanne silicon, whereas 5600 is based on Vermeer silicon.
AMD will introduce up to three Ryzen 4000 SKUs: 4600G, 4500, and 4100, all of which will be priced around 154 USD. The Ryzen 5 4500 is likely to retail for 129 USD, while the Ryzen 3 4100 is slated to retail for 99 USD. Those are almost certainly Renoir-X components with the integrated graphics deactivated. There are three further additions to the lineup that we overlooked due to their somewhat later availability relative to the other chips (later by weeks). AMD will officially announce (not release) the 5800X3D soon, where new SKUs would be unveiled on March 15. Release dates of the new AM4 chips:
- Ryzen 7 5800X3D: 20 April
- Ryzen 5700X/5600/5500/4600G/4500/4100: 4 April
- Ryzen 5700/5100/4700: During April
