AMD Ruby Tech demo Screenshot are Shweeeet

AMD has been working on a new Ruby tech demo for a ling time now, actually we reported about this last year already as most media already has seen it during a recent press-briefing. There have also been some YouTube movies available. Ruby has been active underground since mid-2013 at least, but 30FPS ShakyCam YouTube videos don’t really do it justice, we have some actual screenshots now.

The same character starred in an earlier AMD tech demo from about six years ago, but has really come to life thanks to TressFX. And just look at that amount of detail, scenery and sure skin! The demo was created in CryEngine3. The Ruby demo uses TressFX with 12,150 individual strands of hair.

And yes, this DX11 demo has been seen LIVE and realtime. Below three screenshots:

Something seems a bit incongruous with how she looks - kind of like a nerdy librarian in a super suit, albeit a hot librarian, but a librarian nonetheless! :-) Right, I'm off to check out some books!

The background where she's posing looks like a real city. Man, graphics have come a long way since this.
