AMD Radeon RX Vega 56 Available Starting Today
Two weeks ago you probably have read our Vega 56 and 64 reviews, what you perhaps missed is that the Vega 64 actually went on sale, the Vega 56 cards however did not. Until today that is.
Unfortunately you’ll likely be hard-pressed to find a Vega 56 today, industry shortages made sure of that. I just check the EU for availability, and there was none to be found (at the time of writing). If you can find one, chances are high that the price is artifically inflated due to the shortage. We’re also confident that AMD would like to sell the 64 instead. If you can spot a standalone card, they should be selling for 399 USD.
If you locate them at a far higher price, you might want to wait a bit more until there is good volume available. Also we’d recommend you guys to wait on the actual AIB card, that are bound to be more silent and offer better cooling. If you haven’t read it, you can check our reference review right here.

AMD fans will still pay more for AMD hardware, even if it's lower price-to-performance than Nvidia. Even if they cards are more expensive, produce more heat, suck more power, etc. their fans will rationalize it by pointing to FreeSync being cheaper than G-Sync - nevermind how many of them actually bought FreeSync monitors...
Any remaining stock will be snatched up by the miners, so AMD is going to sell every single card they make for quite a while. They won't sell nearly as many as Nvidia, and Nvidia still owns the gaming market, but AMD will sell their cards.
1. As of the time of release, Vega56 was CHEAPER than the 1070. When the custom models hit, they will cost the same as the 1070.
2. The Vega56 is FASTER (8-10% in 1440P and 4K) than the 1070.
3. It consumes more power, however, with 1-2 clicks for tuning, it will consume about 10-20, nothing more.
4. Yeah, Sync monitor price difference: ASUS 1440P 144Hz IPS costs 250$ LESS in Freesync.
Poor guy.

Well, if you think manufacturers increased prices, then you are a dumb.
Absolute bullshit. 100$ difference for a faster GPU? Else it will be destroyed? Lol fanboy.

I would like to know why would anyone buy these reference cards for gaming?
Not being a troll, I really have no idea.
Aftermarket card I could see that runs cooler.
Because most aftermarket cards don't have a blower style cooler and you can't have any other type of cooler in a tiny form factor. I used to have a GTX 980 with an open cooler in my Fractal Design Node 202 case and it would overheat all the time. No problems with my reference rx 480 (with a blower cooler) though.

I understand where you are coming from msotirov. That being said, the nvidia cards that compete with this one offer blower coolers as well so I think that is kind of a moot point.
Also, it may be a little faster at 4k then a competing nvidia card. My problem with that is, I do not believe someone buys this card to game at 4k.
I have been on 4k for a long time now and I certainly would not, from experience.

If your gaming at 1080P a Rx 480 is still a great GPU. Unless you are aiming at a 120 hz monitor you really don't need more then that right now imo. Two of the desktops in our house are on 1080p monitors and the one with a Rx 480 handles everything really well at that resolution. The other one has a Rx 470 and it's still pretty good for all but the most demanding games.
