AMD Radeon RX 590 Would Now launch 15 November

AMD Radeon RX 590 Would Now launch 15 November

Over the past few weeks, we've talked a couple of times about a pending Radeon RX 590 from AMD. A Polaris based product that now is expected to be released on 15 November. It would be Polaris as you know it, yet fabbed on a smaller 12nm node and thus it'll get some extra frequency on the clocks.

Earlier on a leaked result set that surfaced online shows that RX 590 would be clocked at 1545 MHz clock, and that is higher than the RX 580 boost clock. Then again, we do not know if the results set is taken from an overclocked product. The memory clock of 2000 MHz seems reference based. Recently some documents have leaked onto the web, mentioning the RX 590 as product name, so, for now, we'll assume that is correct.

The suggested retail price would hover in the $299,- which is a good chunk more expensive than a RX 580 8GB at $229.

Why on earth will AMD stay with the same memory on this card? Why not run faster DDR5X or atleast 9000Mhz DDR5??? Basically Nvidia will launch the GTX1060 with DDR5X and it will be once again on par with the new RX590... Why will AMD not push the boundaries???

Seems like a miss to me, banking on higher clocks on the GPU to try and remain within the realm of relevance in the wake of a GDDR5X clad 1060...But considering that refreshed-Polaris and Pascal on on their last legs, I wouldn't expect much effort from either team in terms of RnD to bring a much better product in that market segment until the next gen's medium range products hit the shelves...

Is it me or could the differences in scores be down to better cpu scores or even the difference in driver versions but for the next level the 590 has nothing more to offer to 580.

Fake results. We should wait for proper release and benchmarking.
